Residential Conveyancing Team

Our team has over 100 years of collective experience in delivering high quality work in all matters relating  to residential conveyancing  including, sales, purchases, leasehold, shared ownership, equity release  unregistered transactions  and  new build transactions .

We have five solicitors, one licensed conveyancer, 6 assistants and a post completion manager in the department.

Matters are allocated between the fee earners each of whom have a dedicated assistant and we will make it clear from instruction who will be dealing with your matter.

Susan Appleton – Head of Conveyancing

Susan is the Head of our team and has over 20 years’ experience in residential conveyancing matters, dealing with high value sales and purchases, equity releases, shared ownership and unregistered land transactions.

Susan qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and has worked for firms with offices based in Merseyside and all over the North West of England. Susan joined the firm in 2016 as Head of Conveyancing.

Susan has overall supervision of the department and provides holiday cover and support to all the conveyancing fee earners.

David Burke – Solicitor

Assisted by Grace Kennedy

David qualified as a Solicitor in 1975 and has specialised in all aspects of both residential and commercial conveyancing matters. David provides training to our trainee solicitors and support staff and deals with lots of repeat clients and business.

Phillippa Holcroft – Solicitor

Assisted by Jonathan Law

Phillippa graduated from De Montford University Leicester in 1990 before gaining an honours award at Christleton College of Law in Chester. Phillippa specialises in new build conveyancing and heads the Plot Team at our Altrincham office

Stephanie Mellor – Solicitor

Assisted by Michelle Jones

Stephanie graduated from Northumbria University in 2012 with LLB and went on to study the LPC and LLM at the College of Law Manchester. She joined McHale & Co in May 2015 and currently deals with commercial and residential property transactions.

David Clarke – Licensed Conveyancer

Assisted by Liz Connelly

David graduated from Sheffield Hallam University and joined McHale & Co in 2015 after working in both Australia and New Zealand. David is a Licensed Conveyancer who specialises in residential conveyancing and is happy to advise on all aspects of property law.

Mark Owen – post completion manager.

Mark joined the firm from Sedgwick Legal following a merger in October 2016 and is a Fee Earner in the Property Department heading up our post completion department.
